The products that we purchase for our pets have a big impact on the environment, in addition to their well being. Finding Eco-friendly dog and cat supplies should be easy. So, we've done just that from our home base in Columbus, Ohio. The purpose behind The Recycled Retriever is to have one place to find all your pet shopping needs. And just as important, we wanted to provide a portal for conversation, ergo The Recycled Retriever blog. Both elements are important in taking the small steps to becoming environmentally conscious. They are steps that we can build upon.
Let us share a little of our story. We think you'll find that at The Recycled Retriever we're your run of the mill cats and dogs (with a little fancy tossed in at times)...
Abbie: Starting her life in a cardboard box outside a grocery store, Abbie came to live with us at around seven weeks old...adopted from the Capital Area Humane Society in Columbus, Ohio. She is the original "recycled" retriever. Abbie is the top dog at The Recycled Retriever. She is the reason that the company was started. We wanted her to have fun, eco-friendly dog toys. Oh, Abbie also serves another very important function around here...she's a great product tester. Have you seen the photos of her with the Hurley Bone? Annie: You have never seen a cat like Annie. She is one of a kind. Rescued from a no kill shelter as a kitten, she was malnutrition and tiny. A few years later, she weighs over 13 pounds and has been advised by her vet to loose a little weight (good advice for many of us). Annie has helped us make sure that The Recycled Retriever is not just for dogs. Nothing gets past her without her inspecting it. Annie is the reason for the phrase "curiosity killed the cat". Do you have an Annie in your life?
Augie: Loyal like a dog, dependable like your best friend and as comfortable as a pair of shoes. That's Augie. A constant that lets you know that you are home and everything is going to be fine. With that introduction, would it be rude to talk about her addiction to organic catnip? Sure she always had a little problem, but with the organic stuff it's a whole new world for her.
Arnold: The newest member to join The Recycled Retriever, Arnold brings some much needed testosterone to the organization. He is still a growing puppy so he takes pride in the challenge of making certain our products hold up to not so normal wear-and-tear. Look for his photo soon to join the family album. He wants us to wait until he can show his best look for the camera.
Rich: Customer Service, Shipping, Billing and all around good guy should be printed on his business cards. Rich does a lot at The Recycled Retriever. His primary job is to cater to Annie, Abbie and Augie (in that order). Admit it, we all have our favorites and Annie is for sure Rich's favorite, although he would never admit it.
Billy: Every pack has their lead dog, and that best describes Billy. He has an extraordinary keen sense to tap into a need and find a solution. Billy is out front observing the surroundings and always leads us in the right direction. The Recycled Retriever wouldn't have breathed life without Billy's dedication to making it happen.
